Welcoming in 2010 with a Vision Board

Psychic Readings by Kathleen
This is the time of year when visioning, orienting intentions and setting timeline goals is on everyone’s minds. The first vital step is reflecting on last year’s successes and what needs to be re-intentioned for the year ahead. Depending on your personality type, one of these processes will be more appealing than others. I favour visioning the best. I often recommend this fun exercise especially when the Chariot card shows up in a client’s warning position in their reading. Jump start your goal setting with a visioning board. It’s engaging and affirming!
Begin with a large piece of cardboard (2′ X 3′) and sit down quietly with a stack of images that you pull together from magazines, the internet, your own and other’s photos, ad flyers and anywhere else you can find them. Following a meditation and/or prayer, flip through your stack of images selecting those that click intuitively with what you want to bring towards you over the coming months. Paste these images on your board and fix your dream collage to a wall that you gaze upon often. In this exercise you are constellating the power of the unseen world to assist in the manifestation of your dreams. Magic power. In esoteric teaching remember, as above so below, and like attracts like. By energetically projecting images of special significance to yourself out into the world, those images in the world find their way to you. Seeing is believing, and believing is manifesting.
My visioning for 2010 is themed around creative expression. When I was younger I used to design and craft all sorts of neat things from clothes, to household items to jewellery. I’d spend hours picking materials, patiently crafting some item that had captured my imagination and crow with joy when it turned out reasonably close to what I had imagined. I don’t recall being plagued with an internal, overly self-critical examiner either. This year I’ve set my intentions to reclaim that joy. Simple and fun. I want to create, become more self-sufficient and learn.
True spiritual expression is revealed in our actions. Meditation and prayers are a start but it the power of action truly honours our soul’s expression. Ask yourself this coming year, “Does this action forward my soul’s purpose?” If not, why do it? If you don’t know what your soul’s purpose is, do a visioning board with that intention in your heart.
For those of you who are Tarot enthusiasts remember to determine your coming year by adding your birthday (day and month) to 2010 and study the corresponding Major Arcana card. This year is my Chariot. The Chariot will direct me to follow my instincts, claim my desires, take the necessary action to meet my own psychological needs, and being responsible for my actions. In the shadows, the Chariot will teach me lessons related to restlessness, imbalance, decadence and lack of clarity.
2010 means collectively we have reached the end of a developmental cycle. This represents the energy of completion, arriving at the pinnacle of achievement, crossing the finish line, summing up and preparing for transformation. This coming year consider what is getting completed. Watch for cycles ending. This will be the year when you decide what you’ll take with you into 2011 and what is now over in your life. The combination of the final and Blue Moon of the year, followed by 2010 makes it especially important for you to take charge of what promises to be a signficant year for all of us.

January 28th Lecture at Wilfrid Laurier University on Spiritualism and Women. Although this lecture is not open to the public it will be videoed and uploaded to my youtube site so you’ll be able to watch it online.
Quote:
“By providing a form of religious practice in which truth revealed itself to individuals without recourse to external authority, Spiritualism became a magnet for social and political radicals throughout the nineteenth century.
In addition, the large audiences assembled by Spiritualists at their own conventions became crucial to the dissemination of radical ideas. At these events, woman’s rights was not presented as just another reform. Rather, Spiritualists believed, as one advocate put it, that “woman’s freedom is the world’s redemption.” As investigation of the manifestations swept the nation, Spiritualism became a major-if not the major-vehicle for the spread of woman’s rights ideas in mid-century America.
Spiritualism’s greatest contribution to the crusade for woman’s rights probably lay in the new role of spirit medium. Far from requiring guidance from men, mediums led both men and women on the path to truth. In mediumship, women’s religious leadership became normative for the first time in western history.”
