Along with wishing your mom a Happy Mother’s Day this month, don’t forget to send your loving and gift giving wishes to our Earth Mother too.  If your life mother cares deeply for Gaia you can make a donation/sacrifice of yourself on her behalf for Mother’s Day.  Many moms have more material possessions than they even want to store, care for, or move. They bemoan, “What am I going to do with all this stuff I have especially gifts people have given me over the years?!”  Whatever your choices and/or responsibilities involve towards your mother this coming Sunday, remember to awaken with a prayer in your heart to the Mother of All, she needs your love and sacrifice more than ever.

Many ask how we know when a psychic/spiritual message is real.  In other words, how can we know it is not just our own imagination or wishful thinking at play?  You can think of it as the same as touch.  You are aware when you touch your own hand by the double sensation; of not only the sensation of the hand that touches, but of the hand that is being touched.

The mental process by which you arrive at any thought is a double process too. You are not only aware of the thought vibrating upon the brain, or within the brain, but you are aware of the consciousness which produces the thought as like a delicate thread laid along the intelligent power named volition.  It is the vibration upon the brain cell.  When a thought enters your mind without this dual consciousness, without this other subtle process, a distinct thought that is just as palpable as the dropping of a drop of water upon the hand, or the touch of another person upon the body, that thought is not yours. This is a true psychic/spiritual impression.  Frequently such impressions come in while in a whirl of distraction, when your mind is preoccupied elsewhere. It is as distinct as a pebble dropped into calm water.

Generally you can distrust any impressions which are in direct accordance with your wishes, for where our desire enters, there is lack of clarity in the perception of truth, particularly if your desire is a selfish one.  Selfless, unconditional love, is the source of all that is in spirit communication.  Desire is recognizable by our attachment to the outcome. Ego driven, it has everything to do with selfish fulfillment and nothing to do with another except how they might be co-opted to fulfill our base needs. If you think spirit will make another do your bidding, give your head a good shake! Nothing could be further from spiritual truth than this.  You can be sure in asking spirit to help, you will receive exactly what you need and not necessarily what you want!

Trust only your spiritual/psychic impressions and intuitions that come at variance with your selfish wishes, for they are not only from the inner nature of your own spirit, but are doubtless the promptings of the guardian spirit to lead you aright.  The moral energies here intervene. Frequently a spiritual impression will be in direct opposition to your individual wish and will. If the spirit/psychic message does come upon a subject that you have no knowledge or judgment about, obey it!  Failing to do so will almost always lead to regret.

This is why it is difficult to trust information revealed in readings we do for ourselves.  If it is on a matter to which we are indifferent of outcome (which oftentimes begs the question - why do the reading?) fine, but if it is on an issue which is of the utmost importance, it is better left to an objective party.  If you are attributing a message to spirit, the first question you must ask yourself and answer honestly is, “Do I care about the outcome of this situation?” If it is remotely yes, you are very likely caught in a rationalization of wishful thinking and listening to the voice of desire, not spirit.
