Happy International Women’s Day March 8

Psychic Readings by Kathleen

Sunday March 8 is International Women’s Day and daylight savings time too.  What an auspicious combination! This will be a perfect day for us to celebrate our Sun Goddesses; Ameratsu, Oestre (where the word Easter is derived) and Azara. In the Tarot They have a presence in the High Priestess, the Empress, Justice, Temperance, the Star, the Sun, and World cards, just to name a few.

The story of the Goddess belongs to the realm of all living myth.  In this realm, myth is the truth that retains its power long after philosophers and historians have revealed its impossibility, continuing to glide through our dreams, fantasies, and even our gestures.  The truth of the Goddess is the mystery of our being.  She is the dynamic life force within.  Her form is embedded in our collective psyche, part of what it is to be human.  She is Gaia, the dance of life, and her song is eros, the energy of creation.

We are now admitting into our consciousness the wisdom of the ages, never lost to primal peoples, that the earth is not a dead body, but is inhabited by a spirit that is life and soul.  This spirit perceived and experienced as the body of the Great Mother gives nourishment to all the living things it shelters in its womb.

Make this coming Sunday full of life and love for the women in your life (including yourself!)  and may the Goddess be with you all the sun filled days of your life.

Quote:

“But compared to the past, the new consciousness will have to be endowed with greater clarity, freedom, self-awareness, and a new and different capacity to love.  The Goddess has reemerged as a guide for this transformation.

We are inevitably of our time.  The reemergence of the Goddess does not mean a return to the Old Religion. What it does promise is a profound healing of the malaise that permeates our social fabric and physical environment.  We are in the midst of one of those epochal changes when human realities are being reshaped by a vision of far-reaching consequences.

Once again artists are the prophets and healers.  A new symbology and mythology is in the making.  The avant-garde is usually around the corner and out of sight for most of us. What is so telling in this revolution is that the new spirituality appears to be a grass roots phenomenon.

The Goddess has reappeared in our midst in the late twentieth century as symbol of the healing that is necessary for our survival, a transformation of the consciousness that holds promise of a renewal of our culture.  The emerging consciousness is pluralistic.  There are many pathways that reconnect the personal to the political, the spiritual, and the sexual.  There are no authorities, hierarchies, or gurus.  Empowerment comes from within, from the connection to the life force.”

Psychic Abilities

Most people who are new to readings don’t recognize or understand the difference between what a psychic tarot reader does and what other types of advisers do for clients.  Psychic is the generic term for all of what us kooks are rather famous and/or infamous for – accessing information through a supposed mysterious, unseen reality.  Tarot cards are a divination or synchronicity tool much like stones, bones, sticks, coins and tea leaves.  Other methodologies for accessing this unseen reality would include a crystal ball, psychometry (holding an object belonging to the client), body energy (such as putting hands on back of neck and forehead) and palm reading.

Mediumship is a communication link between the entities of the spirit world and the inhabitants of the earth plane.  The information passed to the client from the medium is understood to be downloaded directly from a spiritual entity.  There isn’t a contract in place that a certain tool will be used as an instrument for the information – the medium is all the instrumentation required.  Additionally there are different types of mediumship – your regular garden variety and the trance medium who completely resigns her own ego awareness to allow spirits to have absolute access to her consciousness and body.

No matter what methodology your psychic uses to access the mysterious, unseen reality, the experience is guaranteed to be intriguing and entertaining.  It often confirms your own intuition, validates your a priori mind set before arriving at your psychic’s table and will likely reveal something you actually didn’t know or wouldn’t have thought of yourself.  Oracles have been used for thousands of years, certainly as long as humans have possessed the consciousness that there is more to life than what can be perceived through the five senses.  Herstorically oracles have been predominantly women, their services engaged by emperors desiring or needing to be assured that their kingdoms will continue to flourish and grow in prosperity. This is how the term fortune teller came to describe the psychic advisory profession.

The Total Woman Show at Bingemans February 14 & 15.  I will be reading again this year at booth 5 on the left wall of the main room.  This is a great opportunity to get a quick reading and enjoy a great show.  The Women’s Show this year will feature 150 booths, fashion shows, a bevy of great speakers and an opportunity to shop with impunity.

Quote:

Table turning, the simplest and crudest form of communication with the subconscious self or with extraneous intelligences. As mensa divinatoriae tables were used for purposes of divination in antiquity, Ammianus Marcellinus describes a table with a slab, engraved with the letters of the alphabet, above which a ring was held, suspended by a thread. By swinging to certain letters messages were spelt out.  Tertullian appears to be the first who knew of table communications with the unseen world. The usual procedure is to form a circle around the table, place hands lightly, with fingertips touching, on the leaf and, with lowered lights or in complete darkness, wait for the manifestations.  If someone with psychic powers is present the table may, after a time, show signs of animation. The first such sign is a quivering motion under the sitters’ hands; it keeps on increasing until the table pulsates with a mysterious energy. Chair or table makes no difference once the available power is sufficient to manifest.  The reason why a table should be used for spirit communication is that as a piece of furniture it is generally available, convenient, allows contact around it for a large number of people, its surface acts as a receptacle for the generated force and the space underneath comes very near to a cabinet, especially if it is surrounded by deep hanging table cloth.  In olden days they often used a table with a hole in the middle through which materialized hands were thrust.

Heart-Felt best Wishes for 2009

Heart-felt best Wishes for 2009

Psychic Readings by Kathleen

At the end and beginning of each year my practice picks up Olympian momentum, but this year has really topped the charts.  No doubt the media squall of pending economic hardship, environmental imperatives, and war are ramping our feelings of dread and helplessness.  Unfortunately I don’t subscribe to the notion that it is all fear mongering.  In some situations the media is downplaying the imperatives and in other cases it’s certainly guilty of obvious and repetitive exploitation.

What I do know is that in is during these periods of great sorrow that our Soul perception is quickened and reaching to claim its own.  While many adhere to a belief in soul mates; few realize our Souls are members of a family unit comprised of 12 members.  Our Soul family inspires a very different quality of feeling from our blood family. Not especially likely to be members of our blood family.  You recognize this spiritual truth by those whom you embrace as family of choice (deep and abiding friendships) as compared with certain members in your blood family that have always been like aliens to you.

Your immediate Soul family of twelve has an extended kindred of 144 which are all related to a larger society of 144,000.  Meaning that there are 139,000 souls whom you immediately and profoundly connect to.  You share a common life purpose and goal.  The other interesting fact about your Soul family members, is that they are not necessarily sharing human expression with you presently on the earth plane.  Some or many have already passed onto the spirit world where they continue to work closely with you as a loving aid to support the realization of your Soul family’s spiritual purpose.

As you face the challenges of 2009 consider those in your life who are a part of your Soul family and society.  Know that you aren’t expected to labour alone! Open your spiritual doorways through prayer, meditation, dreamwork, and creative expression to messages from those who do cry with you, celebrate your successes, and happily throw in a hug or two when you need it.  Be liberal in your pleas for guidance, advice and support.

Quote:Thus when one meets with a mind who is sympathetic, who understands every thought, who in conversation seems to understand what truth it is that one is striving to express, who continually exclaims: “I understand this, it is plain;” the thoughts of each flow together: such as these are Soul kindred, unknown to each other by name or nationality; they may each be of a different country, speaking another language; but when that language is translated by the spirit, when each thought is understood as coming from within the Soul, it expresses the kinship; such as these are of the household of Souls.  When you find your friend, your brother, your sister, though not reared in the same family, who has a different name and parentage, yet to whom in your very heart and Soul you feel nearer than to those who have ties of consanguinity, you have found one of your Soul kindred.  For such friendship the whole world has often been forsaken, as history many times has revealed.

Being an Honest Psychic

Due to my ever expanding explorations into the realm of spirit, Tarot doesn’t spherically include all the work I do.  It’s always an aspect of the readings I do for clients, but it is increasingly losing its primary and central position. My spiritual study and practice however, remains centred and grounded in the sacred feminine, the Mother and Goddess as it has for more than thirty years.

You might be surprised at how often (especially these days of so called financial uncertainty) I am asked for spiritual advice to place a winning bet, and upcoming lottery winning numbers.  As I told one client recently I am confident that spirit in this situation will provide you with the information you need to know as opposed to what you want to know.  My experience with the spiritual realm is that the guidance is always about what you need to learn and sadly little about physical comfort.  This applies to all aspects of your life, from love to money and health.

The greatest challenge in being a reader is being honest when it comes to impending challenge (palatable reframe for disaster).  It’s never easy to relate sad or unfortunate news to clients.  Some clients will specifically request, “No bad news please”.  This means that I will edit out anything I see that may potentially make them unhappy or fearful of what is in their forecast. They are undoubtedly relieved by the fact that I’m not completely silent.  Other braver souls will specifically ask me to be baldly honest but when I speak of things that are not so pleasant on the horizon for them they are typically less than cordial.  This is one of the many challenges facing all readers and what drives many away from the practice.  Knowing what is foretold for your future is complicated.

Do you want to know really what’s ahead?  Or are you seeking assurance that all is well? Each client has that conundrum to face every time they consult an oracle.  Knowing why you are seeking my services will undoubtedly help you decide whether it’s visions of your future you want or spiritual guidance in the present situations facing you.  I always teach my esoteric students that they must be honest in their readings.  To betray the trust spirit places in me by lying to clients is not something I’m ever prepared to do for any reason. The good news is that there have been situations whereby spirit provided less than desirable outcomes yet the outcome was stellar.  Would the client have viewed the outcome as stellar however, had they been told it would be?

Happy Holidays

This year is closing on a memorable note of spiritual challenge and learning.  We perennially complain that our celebrations of the sacred have become too commercially focused (even our jolly, red-suited Santa Claus is a contrived icon created by a soft drink company in the thirties to promote another time of year besides summer when people should drink pop) but few possess the fortitude to take that discernment to the mat.  It’s inspiring to witness a spreading reclaimed tradition by the insightful to adopt the practice of making donations to charity organizations on behalf of their loved ones.

It takes a conscientious act of will to resist the urge to get snagged by the news bombardment of economic disaster.  I’ve been contacted by a number of media sources over the past week to comment on the status of my business in light of the fact that professional stock brokers are reportedly losing business in the US to psychics. I declined to comment.

I don’t encourage clients to focus their questions on gambling because chances are that spirit will joyfully provide celestial lessons and guidance that do not entail getting rich sitting on your fanny.  Spirit is lovingly keen to help you be of service, but watching money inflate/deflate sort of fits in the same class as watching paint dry.  You don’t want to spend eternity chained to an irrelevant stock exchange.  Here on the earth plane we establish habits of service that will nourish or deprive our soul for a long, long, long time.

Many have asked me about buying and selling a house over this past year.  I’ve advised all my clients beginning in late 2007 not to buy houses unless they are selling one to buy another.  Some heeded my advice.  In any case you can rest assured you are exactly where you are meant to be.  Your home’s value is more profound than monetary consideration anyway.  It’s where you love, find peace and grow. I vision you claiming all of that for yourselves and heart songs throughout this Holiday Season.

May your lives be rich with joy, abundant with love, and replenished with wisdom.

Confessions of a Psychic

It would seem that blogging has become a popular venue to express our inner thoughts and feelings about what has heart and meaning to us in our lives.  I’ve been asked many times what life must be like for a psychic!

“you must know things the rest of us don’t.. like when something is going to happen… what others in your life are thinking… whether you should do or say something…how others think and feel about you…”

As if life for a practicing psychic were much different than it is for everyone else. In some ways it probably is and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to reveal how.  At least for me.

I have been a practicing psychic for more than 20 years and 5 years making a full time living at it.  I have more than 1000 clients worldwide.  I have good and bad days at work just like everyone else.  I have moments when I wonder why I’m doing what I’m doing.  Maybe I should just go out and get a job.  You know.  Go into work everyday to perform a prescribed task, have lunch with colleagues and clock out at a regular time every day.

But there is a problem with that.  It’s the difference between job and vocation, task and gift.  I truly love the work I’ve been blessed to do.
