Psychic Readings by Kathleen

I often receive emails from traumatized people seeking spiritual direction and solace regarding possession, curses, and all manner of pesky, dark and invasive entities. Caught in a vortex of fear, victims of this phenomenon are willing to do anything to free themselves of this perceived blight on their lives.  Attributing everything from their financial ruin to relationship disintegration on a curse they were told had been placed on them or their family up to a millennia ago.  For those who adhere to a notion of reincarnation, this fear assumes alarming and gargantuan proportions.

There is some confusion afoot about the spirit world and how these matters actually function. Light, love and goodness are intensely more forceful than shadow, fear and ill intentions. When you are in a shudder-less dark room and light a candle, notice how much light is cast into the room? Enough to see another person or discern where objects are placed.  Conversely, when in a room bright with sunlight, notice how far a shadow is cast by an object.  Does it spread wide and throw the bright room into pitch darkness? Are you still able to see everything in the room?  When you meet someone who is afraid and you offer them a warm smile of welcome, does this not easily relax their fear?  When you are having an upsetting discombobulated day and someone extends a friendly gesture, do you notice how all the day’s frustrations suddenly melt away from your consciousness?  A little love seems to go a long way just like a little candle lit in the darkness.

If I am mindfully honourable and act in a loving manner towards others; if I work in the light and believe in the power of love and goodness, how could darkness overwhelm me?  If I perceive that my life is cursed then I must ask myself why I persist in the shadows!  If everything in my life appears horrible, it isn’t that someone has sent a bad spirit to plague me, it’s that I’m not asking the highest and best to be with me.

When we pass to spirit life, it’s like a reversed mirror of the material world.  Those who who are attached to the power of the material plane risk the danger of remaining so when passing to spirit. This means they will pulled to the lowest level of spiritual existence.  Hence the reversed mirror image. This is why people have been admonished to be cautious when using tools such as the Ouji Board.  Do you know who you are inviting for a visit?  Untrained you could be inviting any spirit in the astral plane (the lowest and most earthbound plane) to parlay with you and unless they are in attendance out of love it could well be for their own design which may or may not match your own.

Another common question people ask me is who are their spirit guides.  I don’t trust that anyone here on the earth plane is qualified to tell me that.  This is a gift you will receive from spirit directly through a series of synchronistic signs, symbols, dreams and visions when the connection is ready to be established.  Trust in what you know to be true!  When asking for guidance be sure to ask the highest and best to be with you.  You want those of the highest celestial realms to be with you in your times of suffering and desperation.  The brightest lights in the celestial realms easily dispel any darkness cast by those ignorant spirits caught still between the worlds.  We cannot be cursed or attacked unless we are persistently acting in darkness.  Just like you need to work in the light here on earth, so must you do in spirit.  If you fervently believe you are cursed, ask with a selfless heart that they be brought into the light by those most spiritually unfolded in the spiritual realms.  Immediately the light breaks their darkness and you are left to live your life in peace.

March Events

Psychic/Spiritual Development Class.  Six Wednesday evenings 7 - 9 PM in downtown Kitchener.  Cost $129.00.  I am now accepting registrations for this class which will focus on strengthening and developing your psychic talent in tandem with your spiritual development.

Quote:

“Have you ever seen how in the midst of truth, falsehood betrays itself and strives to fly away from the peaceful yet clear light of the vanquishing nature of truth? Such is the condition of ignorance and crime.  In spirit life, immured in one’s own condition, one may not be aware that one’s state is a state of negation, because to the individual the reality of one’s own state becomes more and more apparent, and more and more appalling. Such must have been the states of darkness into which Dante gazed when he looked into purgatory;  this condition within the individual where they bear with them their atmosphere of darkness, and conscious of their own condition, how could they be powerful to do harm to others?

The humans of evil intentions are like pirates instead of merchant ships, and passing into spirit life, they carry with them the mists and shadows of their own state, and they would strike blindly if they struck forth to injure others.

It is a singular law of spiritual existence that the centre of attraction for every spiritual force is the individual, and that as the individual is bright, or beautiful, or good, all spiritual force that resembles that state will be drawn towards them.  If you send forth prayers, they return in blessings; if you send forth good thoughts, they return in beautiful images to surround you; and if you send forth shadows, they envelope you in shadows, for you surround yourself with your own thoughts and conceptions.  If it were possible for the spirit to steal, think of murder, revenge, or any condition resembling those states, that same law of which we speak would send this thought back upon him or herself, and redouble the shadows around them, until by the very overwhelming weight of their own condition the spirit would strive to overcome it.”

Happy Valentine’s Day!

 Psychic Readings by Kathleen

 February 2, 2010

Spiritualism has inaugurated the era of woman,” Mary Davis proclaimed in the 1860’s.  She recalled the common birth date of the new spiritual message and call for women’s rights in 1848.  Spiritualist conventions pronounced the, “Emancipation of women from all legal and social disabilities.” Consistently those who assumed the most radical positions on women’s rights became Spiritualists.  Not all feminists were Spiritualists but all Spiritualists advocated strenuously for women’s equal rights.  Women were equal to men within Spiritualist practice, polity and ideology by adhering to a form of spiritual practice in which truth revealed itself to individuals without recourse to external authority.  In the mid 19th century US, there were eleven million spiritualists in a population of twenty five million!

In manner of dress, the right to speak in public forums, to own their own money, to be spiritual leaders, Spiritualism was at the helm.  In Spiritualism the place of worship was relocated to the home from the church or temple whereby spirit circles gathered around parlour and kitchen tables.  When it was taboo and in some cases illegal for a woman to speak out in church or in any public arena, trance mediums were mounting platforms and speaking to crowds of thousands.

Spiritualism taught women to exercise the self-healing properties of her own nature and develop more egalitarian relationships with her medical care provider.  Spiritualist groups were creating underground railways to protect women from asylum commitments designed to stop a woman from leaving abusive marriages.  Medicine and clergy alike were duplicitous in forcing vulnerable mediums into asylums and prisons.  Gifted mediums were murdered continuing the witch-burning tradition well into the early twentieth century.  The famous Comstock book burnings of the early 20th century destroyed thousands of books, articles, and reports proving spirit return.

Spiritualists declared, as one advocate put it, that, “woman’s freedom is the world’s redemption.”  The seeds of modernism, psychoanalysis, communications, human rights, longevity were all planted and nurtured from the unseen to the seen world from the mid-1800’s onward.  All spiritual evolutions have had their heralds who point the way in re-membering and call the flock home to the true message.  One that is dynamic, in a temple that is our heart, and to its expression in the actions we chose to take.  Whenever you embrace the opportunity to speak out loud what is in your heart, you are honouring those who risked everything more than a century ago to clear the path for equality of expression, of access to knowledge and the right to personal agency in your every day lives.  Be confident that this world has had as many enlightened spiritual guides and teachers who were female and re-member them in your meditations and your prayers over this coming month when everywhere you look you will be encouraged to celebrate the presence of love in your life.

February Events

Welcoming in 2010 with a Vision Board

seagrams-smile.jpg

January 5, 2010

Psychic Readings by Kathleen

This is the time of year when visioning, orienting intentions and setting timeline goals is on everyone’s minds.  The first vital step is reflecting on last year’s successes and what needs to be re-intentioned for the year ahead.  Depending on your personality type, one of these processes will be more appealing than others.  I favour visioning the best.  I often recommend this fun exercise especially when the Chariot card shows up in a client’s warning position in their reading.  Jump start your goal setting with a visioning board.  It’s engaging and affirming!

Begin with a large piece of cardboard (2′ X 3′) and sit down quietly with a stack of images that you pull together from magazines, the internet, your own and other’s photos, ad flyers and anywhere else you can find them.  Following a meditation and/or prayer, flip through your stack of images selecting those that click intuitively with what you want to bring towards you over the coming months.  Paste these images on your board and fix your dream collage to a wall that you gaze upon often.  In this exercise you are constellating the power of the unseen world to assist in the manifestation of your dreams.  Magic power.  In esoteric teaching remember, as above so below, and like attracts like.  By energetically projecting images of special significance to yourself out into the world, those images in the world find their way to you.  Seeing is believing, and believing is manifesting.

My visioning for 2010 is themed around creative expression.  When I was younger I used to design and craft all sorts of neat things from clothes, to household items to jewellery.  I’d spend hours picking materials, patiently crafting some item that had captured my imagination and crow with joy when it turned out reasonably close to what I had imagined.  I don’t recall being plagued with an internal, overly self-critical examiner either. This year I’ve set my intentions to reclaim that joy.  Simple and fun.  I want to create, become more self-sufficient and learn.

True spiritual expression is revealed in our actions.  Meditation and prayers are a start but it the power of action truly honours our soul’s expression.  Ask yourself this coming year, “Does this action forward my soul’s purpose?”  If not, why do it? If you don’t know what your soul’s purpose is, do a visioning board with that intention in your heart.

For those of you who are Tarot enthusiasts remember to determine your coming year by adding your birthday (day and month) to 2010 and study the corresponding Major Arcana card.  This year is my Chariot.  The Chariot will direct me to follow my instincts, claim my desires, take the necessary action to meet my own psychological needs, and being responsible for my actions.  In the shadows, the Chariot will teach me lessons related to restlessness, imbalance, decadence and lack of clarity.

2010 means collectively we have reached the end of a developmental cycle.  This represents the energy of completion, arriving at the pinnacle of achievement, crossing the finish line, summing up and preparing for transformation.  This coming year consider what is getting completed. Watch for cycles ending.  This will be the year when you decide what you’ll take with you into 2011 and what is now over in your life. The combination of the final and Blue Moon of the year, followed by 2010 makes it especially important for you to take charge of what promises to be a signficant year for all of us.

Quote:

“By providing a form of religious practice in which truth revealed itself to individuals without recourse to external authority, Spiritualism became a magnet for social and political radicals throughout the nineteenth century.
In addition, the large audiences assembled by Spiritualists at their own conventions became crucial to the dissemination of radical ideas.  At these events, woman’s rights was not presented as just another reform.  Rather, Spiritualists believed, as one advocate put it, that “woman’s freedom is the world’s redemption.”  As investigation of the manifestations swept the nation, Spiritualism became a major-if not the major-vehicle for the spread of woman’s rights ideas in mid-century America.
Spiritualism’s greatest contribution to the crusade for woman’s rights probably lay in the new role of spirit medium.  Far from requiring guidance from men, mediums led both men and women on the path to truth. In mediumship, women’s religious leadership became normative for the first time in western history.”

Wishing you a Light Filled Holiday Season!

December 1, 2009

Psychic Readings by Kathleen

This month will be rich with change for most people around the world.  We’ll all be challenged to adapt!  On the 21st we have the Winter Solstice, marking the shortest day of the year for those of us in the north.  In the Tarot this day is represented by the Sun card; depicting the birth of the twin gods of the solar cycle.  The Sun is born from the dark womb of the darkest night in the year, and on that day the hours of sunlight begin to lengthen and the power and strength of the sun grows.

Adding to all the excitement, December will celebrate two Full Moons! A “Blue Moon” on December 31st.  You’ll have double the opportunity this month to evaluate and purge that which no longer serves you.  We tend culturally to evaluate and resolve to make positive changes on New Year’s Eve anyway.  This is going to be one wild and crazy night.  Note: If you have loved ones working in emergency services be sure to send them a prayer of peace that night.
We do unusual things in December.  Connect with friends and family we haven’t spoken to for months or even years; buy odd stuff; travel to new or old haunts; and eat and drink often exotic substances that challenge us physically to stay in balance.  it’s a joyful, painful, exhilarating, depressing and spiritual time for millions around the globe.  You’ll notice the first profound energy shift three days from now when the night of the first Full Moon draws to a close.  The next will be at the start of the New Moon on the 16h culminating to full ness on the 31st. Mark these days on your calendar to prepare.  After the 16th the planning, building, accumulating and arranging really gets some traction.
I’m excited about December.  The balancing of the celestial feminine and masculine energies (Sun and Moon); and the excitement building as the Blue Moon approaches.  Once in a Blue Moon is the old expression.  I wonder what that once will be collectively and personally? It won’t be a boring month, of that we can rest assured.  Be mindful of the language you use to express your feelings and ideas.  Your expression this month will carry long tentacles of unfoldment into your short and long term future.
I’ve posted several of Cora’s prayers to the Divine Mother on my web site.  Click here to read and print off to have handy over the coming weeks.

Quote:

Whosoever gave the possibility of expression in written (and spoken) Language gave to the world of human life the highest gift (ie. the gift of expression), since language expresses, without appeal to the senses; the ideas and emotions that spring from the Soul, pure Idealism.
It can be truly said that in the highest use of language today, both in writing and speaking, the human mind is capable of expressing every range and shade of human thought.  Words and combinations of phrases and sentences that, appealing only to the mind, stir the innermost depths of thought and awaken from the Soul the immortal Truths elsewise veiled from expression.
The one endowed with the best Ideas, and the language to best express them, is the greatest among mortals-mentally.  This Angel must be the one who is master of expression-verbally-having the highest thoughts to express and knowing the best forms of expression.
Sometimes the Angel of the Group appears in the threefold expression of Art, and, as Teacher, Leader, shows the way by perfect demonstration and elucidation.  Around him gather those culminating lives that are just ready to complete the line of embodiments in one, and sometimes all, of those directions.”

Romance and Texting

greg-tower_0178.JPG

November 3, 2009

Psychic Readings by Kathleen

What never fails to amaze me is the changes that have been wrought in relationships due to our increasing dependence on technology for communication.  Don’t get me wrong I love technology.  In matters of the heart however, it speeds the romantic dance up to a fevered pitch.  A couple connects and within a day they are texting each other all day long and into the wee hours of the morning.  There is an expectation of constant communication which in my experience is counterintuitive.

Relationship building is like baking a hearty bread.  It takes time.  From the spark to sharing and turn off now takes a matter of days. Romance has become another fast foody option.  Meet someone; like the flavour (appearance and superficial personality characteristics), text each other twenty times a day until you hit a snag and it’s over.  Next?

I hear from men and women, “But s/he hasn’t responded to my messages in two days.  Have they met someone else?” Back in my single days (twenty years ago), if I didn’t get a call from someone in a couple of weeks, I just assumed he was as busy as I was. But now it would seem if you haven’t heard from someone in a couple of days, it’s a dud.

All of this immediate and intense communication between newly inspired couples acts as a barrier to full and proper psychic absorption. How do you feel about this person without hearing OR reading another thing about them?  What are your dreams in the interim revealing? How would you know if you don’t give yourself some time for this exciting new attraction to settle into your being?  Don’t assume that just because you haven’t heard from them in a few days it’s because you didn’t make quite the mind blowing impression you had worked so hard to effect.  Instead use the quiet for a much needed intuitive check in. Exillerating and romantic stories are the ones that have flowered in a garden of mystery, elusiveness and anticipation.

All relationships are getting infected by this apparent compulsion for communication.  Kids are expected to check in throughout the day so parents know where they are and what their plans are.  I couldn’t have imagined anything more abhorent to me as a child than having to notify my parents regularly about where I am, whom I’m with and when I’d be home.  They were invasive enough in my view.  When I left the house in the morning for school I was happy to know I’d see my family later for dinner.

Certainly people are getting frustrated and annoyed by how text responsive they are expected to be to their work place.  ”You had your blackberry turned off?, the boss inquires with a raised brow on Monday morning as if you are a pathetic loser.  A slacker or derelict that can be easily replaced by a more willing and responsive servant, you need hardly be reminded.

Boundaries and privacy are as vital to the health of a relaitonship as kissing.  When you meet someone who sets your soul on fire, give the sacredness of the experience to grow.  Avoid texting.  If they don’t call you in a couple of weeks, use the time to put your intuition to work.  Too much too fast brings a natural cycle to climax too quickly.  Given enough time and contemplation this person could be just the one you’d thrill to be with for an eon.  Be the one to say you don’t text when you meet that special someone.  Texting is a characteristically too cold a medium to support and nurture an authentic soul connect.

Quote:

“”I’m going to pull into this gas station and get directions,” Wayne said as he turned off the road.  Anne’s eyes grew wide.  ”I don’t believe it,” she said loudly and stomped her feet on the floorboardsd with childlike excitement.  When he was out of sight, she threw her head back and laughed, thrilled to have found a man who could ask for directions without hesitation. She’d known from their first date that Wayne was a remarkable person, but in that seemingly inconsequential instant she realized that she could honestly love him.

As Wayne returned to the car, he stopped and looked at her through the window.  The grin on her face matched the way he felt inside.

Their second date hadn’t turned out exactly as he’d planned; Anne had spent almost half of it unconscious. But even more unexpected was the thought that had planted itself firmly in Wayne’s mind over the preceding hours; he was going to ask Anne out again, and then-at some time, he didn’t know how, nor did he know when- he was going to ask her to marry him.”

Happy Thanksgiving!

October 6, 2009

Psychic Readings by Kathleen

October first was a very special day for me.  I celebrated a bountiful and luscious harvest of my own.  October first marked the culmination of a formidable piece of work I began and completed more than ten years ago.  My unpublished dream dictionary is now available online.  To see my old/new dream dictionary click here

I started guiding dream classes/groups in 1991 in Victoria, B.C. Over the past year I have again been having increasing and persistent urges to launch yet another dream group which began two weeks ago.  It’s challenging to explain what exactly happens in a dream study group because each one has been as unique as the individuals present.  The spirit/unconsious of each participant soon dances into a sympatico vibration with the others present, and this process sets off a life-altering transformation that has the power to heal and enliven your soul’s journey to enlightenment with heightened awareness.  A worthwhile and ambitious pursuit.

I had been studying the works on dreams by Jung, Noble, Hall, Taylor along with many others from 1985 - 1991 and had completed an M.A. at Laurier in Religion & Culture with a focus on the writings of Jung.  One spring morning I was jolted awake but a voice interjected into my consciousness before I could open my eyes.  It was a woman’s voice saying directly, “teach people about dreams”. Whoever that was had very likely been with me for some time prior.  At 9 AM that morning I called the continuing education department at Camosun College and offered to faciltate a dream group.  They promptly embraced the offer and within three months of the awakening I was teaching a small, eclectic group how to understand and work with their dream material.

I spent most of 1998 writing a dream dictionary that I thought the genre was sadly missing.  A dream translation book that would direct the dreamer/interpeter home to their own insight regarding their dream symbol.  There are symbols that constellate collective associations but in more abundance in our dreams are symbols to which we have a personal and significant association.  These symbols will typically make appearances throughout the course of our dreaming life.

When the hard copy Dream Dictionary  was printed in October 1999 only twenty copies were given to students and I shelved the project for the next 10 years.  Until June of this year when the seeds to launch it on the internet were planted. With my web master’s prompting and support we spent four months building the site.

The other aspect of this online dream dictionary which is equally exciting is that it also features my life partner’s, Erich Rock, art work.  Erich has been a keen supporter of my work for twenty years and it’s exciting for us to put our respective gifts together in this dream site.  Many of you have seen his creations around my home and office if you’ve been to see me in person.  I’m heartened now that others will have an opportunity to appreciate his artistic expressions.  Erich’s work is archetypal, and thereby psyche-penetrating complementing and highlighting the force of nature to which dreams also manifest.  To view Erich’s whole collection click here

“According to Tantric teachings, it is by learning to prolong this “intermediate state” and to operate with full awareness within it that you achieve dream mastery and, beyond this, the highest level of consciousness attainable for an embodied human. The Spandakarika of Vasagupta, which dates from teh tenth century, recommends the use of breathing exercises to focus and maintain awareness as you move from waking into the twilight state The dreamer is urged to place himself “at the junction between inhaled and exhaled breaths, at the very point where she enters into contract with energy in the pure state.” This is the entry into conscious dreaming, whose gifts (according to the Tantric text) could be immense:  ”The Lord of necessity grants him during dreams the ends he pursues, providing that he is profoundly contemplative and places himself at the junction between waking and sleeping.”  The aim of the practice is to achieve continuity of consciousness through sleeping, waking, and the intermediate state. When this is attained, the practitioner has ascended to the mystical Fourth State- the turiya of the Upanishads.  This is the highly evolved consciousness of a person who has awakened to the reality of the SELF;  it now infuses his awareness at all times.”

Friday Night and A Full Moon in Pisces

Psychic Readings by Kathleen

Tomorrow night is the Full Moon in Pisces.  It promises to be a memorable Friday night!  This is a particularly emotional and psychic Full Moon. The Moon reminds us to be in sync with our wild and natural inner child.  The Moon directs us to deeper psychic awareness. She has always been our welcome friend in the darkness.  If it weren’t for the Moon our night vision would have been severely handicapped.  When we celebrate the Full Moon we embrace a feminine, fathomless and open flow of feeling.  The Moon is Grandmother Goddess.  She gazes without pity but not without mercy. When the Moon is Full we mark the end of a month’s cycle.  She reminds us to finish things off before we begin again.
The Moon triggers desire and a renewed ability to feel the magnetic pull of the watery realms.  The Moon rules all fluids, including the waters of the body and brain, so she has a very powerful influence over us, certainly as powerful as over the the tidal pulls of entire oceans.  She pulls us to her depths. If we go in fear, we are likely to struggle, experience hysteria and paranoia, become a “lunatic,” and possibly miss the revelatory experience itself.  If we go without fear, we experience an ecstatic and joyous entry into the labyrinth.

It is fear that creates demons and all the unpleasantness associated with the Moon. This night-force, with its phantasms and glamours and hidden, intoxicating elements, is most frequently represented by Lilith, an early Semitic Goddess who became the classical “demon” and now represents woman as evil.  In earlier forms Lilith personified benign powerful powers of the night, helping spirits collectively known as lilim, who offered the greatest kindness to mortals.  LIke the Moon itself , Lilith is connected to sexuality and the instinctual realm of desire and erotic dreams and fantasies.
On the Full Moon, there is little to do but yield to your feelings.  If you try to figure things out intellectually, you will just get more confused.  If you can open yourself up to being in the moment, and enter the darkness in yourself with eagerness and courage; trust the higher powers to guide you intuitively through the journey of darkness and the unknown, then you will learn from the voyage and gain consciousness as your initiatory gift.
For those of you who are vivid dreamers, this is will be a critical night to capture a dream.  It will reveal your unconsious worries and anticipations with brilliant clarity.

Fall Registrations for Dream Study Group in Downtown Kitchener, ON

I will be accepting registrations over the next 2 weeks for a dream study group I will be facilitating in downtown Kitchener.  This is a dream understanding group from a spiritual/soulwork perspective.  I won’t encourage groups or pairs to register and the group size will be kept to a maximum number of 10 participants.  I hope you will complete the 8 weeks with a much deeper awareness and knowledge of what your dreams mean (interpretive tools) and the How To of organizing your dream group in the future.

Quote:

“The Moon brings the gift of other ways of seeing, the power of dream that goes further than imagination.  She opens the door to other worlds, magical and mysterious, some of which you can get lost in.  She rules the ghosts of your own past, the parts of yourself that have died as well as those that have never been born.  The Moon lets you hear them.  She invites you to know them.  She invites you to rule them.  They may all demand your attention, but not all should be given it, and you must be kind or cruel as necessary.  Though not all that is buried is treasure, under the light of the Moon, you may unearth your pearl beyond price.”

A Happy Midsummernight’s Dream to You!

angle-picture-editted.jpg

I was asked to be interviewed last week by CTV (Canadian Television) regarding a “psychic” weather forecast for the month of August.  They were keen to bring over their cameras and video record my speedy and pithy predictions. Partnering my commentary to those offered by the real experts on the subject such as meteorologists.  Kind of fun the journalist coaxed.  For whom I wondered?  I declined.
I sincerely doubted they truly were interested in what I had to say.  Everyone here in Ontario feels cheated out of a summer due to the melting arctic producing and releasing damp clouds rather like foam on a carbonated drink.  They don’t want to quote me saying things like that.  They want me to say something goofy like if everyone THINKS warmth August will BE warm. I couldn’t be assured they wouldn’t take what I said out of context. The double edged sword of the TV as a medium.  Last year several journalists called to ask me about the stock market since stock brokers were plummeting out of public favour. I declined then too.  I don’t want people calling me for stock advice or a weather report to be honest.
I was interviewed on television however twice over the past two months by our local Rogers TV community talent.  The show was called Real Women Live! and is now sadly off the air. My first interview in May was a full hour and the second interview in June was 45 minutes.  The viewing public were encouraged to phone in their questions and I was expected to answer using whatever psychic means I wanted. Very impromptu and dynamic, the show was hugely enlivened by by a witty and experienced host,  Trish Stevenson.
The first interview was more nerve wracking that I was willing to admit.  It wasn’t anything I could prepare for or BE prepared for.  Very now, very quantum.  But that’s how I do my work so it also felt authentic, as terrifying as the prospect was.  The second interview was fun and exciting because I knew what to expect and so did everyone else involved.  Few things are left to chance with TV yet everyone can’t help noticing that so called reality TV is the most popular style of programming. Few have the daring to really do it.  Trish Stevenson did.  She is local talent who guided this one hour show on her own for several months, making the original contacts, doing the research and interviewing on her own.  Alongside being a young mother of two toddlers.
My web master will be loading clips of this interview to my youtube home page over the next month.  Click here to see my present uploaded videos. If you are a youtube member I invite you to comment on my videos and rank them!

Fall Registrations for 8 Week Dream Study Group

I will be accepting registrations soon for a dream study group I will be facilitating in downtown Kitchener this fall.

Quote:

“Observers remarked that spirit communications often seemed dedicated to the destruction of home life, beginning gently but leading the unsuspecting writing medium through an ever-darkening labyrinth of incriminatory revelations. Unfortunately, this type of spirit discourse was the least likely to be preserved for posterity, but we can see from the example of Louisa Lowe’s written dialogues that spirit message could be disruptive.  However, Louisa’s communications not only provided support and guidance at a time of personal crisis, but were also the cause and occasion of her final departure from the unhappy marital home.  If her writings slandered her husband, perhaps corroborating her unspoken fears and suspicions, they also provided a justification for the longed for separation.  Her writing spoke in place of her silence, and in genuinely subscribing to its external agnecy Louisa could claim its objective validity.”

A Joyful Summerland to You!

Psychic Readings by Kathleen
“Summerland” is a nickname for the Spirit World, not surprisingly we northerners have no trouble jiving with that notion. Following the first Lunar cycle after the Summer Solstice puts us in the time of the Hermit in the Tarot. The Hermit in the Tarot is esoterically pointing to the Egyptian God “Ra” whose secret name was The Sun.

The Sun reaches its peak at the Summer Solstice and like an hourglass whereby the top chamber houses the Sun, the Sun’s rays will empty into the bottom chamber (darkness) until it reaches the Winter Solstice which is when it has emptied.  This is the birth, life and death of the Sun in a Solar year.

The Hermit in a reading signifies having reached a peak, possibly so much so it feels lonely at the top. Adhering to one’s own path despite criticism, objection or lack of understanding on the part of significant others.  Spiritual attainment is always preceded by a period of the Hermit because all Heroines and Heroes must leave the safety and contempt of their community to find their way home to their soul’s purpose. Whether this manifests in an actual physical move is irrelevant. The leavetaking can take place right in their company. Early societies built this natural maturing attainment into their rituals and rites of passage.

The summer is hallmarked by a need and the advantage to do your own work, walking down your own path, seeking wisdom rather than accolades, knowledge rather than information, and yes having the luxury of alone time to contemplate and reflect as you take careful steps forward.

My favourite Hermit card is in the Tarot of the Crone deck which is in its self-published second edition.  It depicts a middle aged woman bundled up in a coat and kerchief, carrying two paper handled bags.  She walks alone in a concreted area with a look on her face of tiredness and mild anxiety. That’s what it feels like to be the Hermit.  You carry on your own way, pushing through with stoicism and hope on your sleeve.  She is a symbol of our time.

The most powerful Full Moon of the year hails us next Tuesday evening.  The moon fully waxes in it’s home which is Cancer, signifying that many things previously hidden are revealed.  It will push many budding Hermits to walk their own paths with resolution in their hearts as more of secret self comes to light.

Over the coming week feel the Moon Goddess pull you to your depths of feeling and intuition, dreams and creative fire.  Have a wonderful July Moon this year…signal it as one you will remember for many years to come.

Event
Trish Stevenson invited me back to her show Real Women Live! on June 23rd due to such an excited interest in my work on behalf of viewers.  It was a great show and I want to thank those of you who called in with great questions and kindred spirit support.

Quote:
The Hermit is a bag lady rejected by and rejecting comfortable society.  She stands on the street of a faceless city, her own face exposed and eloquent.  Her dress is a blue that recalls the depths of ocean and sky, and the boundlessness that lies beyond their shallow edges.  She carries her bags in both hands, because she’s learned that balance gives her endurance.  She is alone, but her isolation is the result, not the goal, of her journey.  Where she goes, others cannot follow. She seeks the mystery at the core of life, at the core of herself.  She looks for the magic that exists even in teh most articial environment.  She seeks answers to questions that have not yet been born.
The Hermit says look to yourself for the answers, look into the worlds inside you, and the uncharted realms within, behind and beyond the ordinary.  There are secrets only you are meant to discover, and truths only you can divine.

Happy Summer Solstice!

June 2, 2009greg-tower_0178.JPG

Surprisingly I’m still asked if I would be willing, for a fee,  to lift a curse that was purportedly assigned by an enemy-paid curse expert. Sadly this reflects an old, and thankfully out- dated notion of how the spirit world works.  While it’s true that evil certainly does manage to grasp the upper hand here on the embodied earth, it is pathetically ineffectual in the spirit world.  The power of good, light and love in the spiritual worlds is far grander , magnificent and pervasive than the warped intentions of the shadow worlds.  Those who pass to spirit with the intention of continuing on with their selfish, grasping, mindless ways quickly realize that they’re missing the right program instructions.  Alone, floundering, desolate, and resource-less they cry for mercy and guidance.

And that rarely lasts long either.  In a nanosecond an assigned, light-filled spirit shows up to assist this poor Cretan spirit  get the lay of the celestial sphere.  The values of love, generosity, humility and selflessness are quickly understood to be the currency of this newfound wondrous life.  All things physical and material fall away like cumbersome baggage as in time will our attachment to it.  Just imagine not having to breathe.  Can you imagine a need for anything material when you don’t even have to breathe?

So it is with curses.  Who in the spirit world is going to carry out this curse?  Those who possess only briefly the slight inclination to do so, have their spiritual hands full struggling to get their bearings.  Moreover they are severely weakened lacking any tools in which to effect any impact.  Those who do possess the real power to carry out the dictates of a curse wouldn’t consider it in an eternity.  The light beings are far too busy working to bring love and joy to those here on the earth plane who would even consider laying a curse on someone!

If someone declares that they will have you and your loved ones cursed forever, just know they have brought a plethora of exciting studies to their doorstep and rejoice!  Their healing is at hand. And don’t ever pay someone to lay a curse or remove one.  You are dishonouring your soul and spirit.  Instead give that money selflessly, generously and anonymously to someone in need.  You’ll be astonished at all the good fortune and luck suddenly coming your way!

Quote:

This is the realm, therefore, which so many fear and yet has no potency in spirit life:  this shadow which so many dread yet which is powerless, is only potent, aggressive and powerful in this world;  the fear and dread and immorality that lurks in your own natures, are made positive by your relationship to material life, and that which is within you must be your greatest foe; not that which is without you.  To conquer this evil one must conquer pride, and selfishness, and appetites of one’s own; to overcome this, one must overcome all within one’s self that makes shadowy the life which is theirs.  There is no foe to fight outside of that condition, and in the realm of the spirit there is freedom, and love, and joy to those who have vanquished not only the state of fear, but the state of selfishness. One little child who has passed from your fireside to the world of spirits is more potent to influence your lives than all the demons that have passed from earth.  One sainted friend, wife, husband, sister, mother, or father, to whom the ties of affection still bind you in thought and feeling, has more force and influence of a positive kind to govern your lives than all the imps of Hades; for by the law of love their positive interest in you overcomes the shadows, and they cannot enter or come near.”
